I can't diminish his acts but on another note how does self immolation even help? If he was suicidal but also down for the cause wouldn't organizing and spreading the word do better than setting yourself on fire? Because the people that NEED to hear this are just going to call him crazy.

self immolation is a desperate last act of protest, the people who need to hear this weren't listening and so he felt compelled to use his life as a way to build interest and understanding in the Palestinian genocide

sadly, simply talking, protesting and spreading the word isn't good enough and hasn't worked in bringing awareness into the United States culpability in the genocide, and so he felt the only thing he had left was to do this

If the thing you're protesting is violence against people, idk if raising arms against people is the move you want to make. The guy was IN the military, so it'd be his boys that he's rising arms against.
