"The game company claims Anthony Fantano is "misusing" intellectual property laws by threatening to sue TikTokers over a widely-memed audio clip."
He's probably f***ed.
I hope they win
Fantano has no case, from the article
"In uploading the audio to TikTok's library, Fantano gave up his rights of ownership, the suit contends. TikTok's terms of service say that by uploading content, users "waive any rights" over their content being used for marketing."
It's actually braindead that he tried to demand something from them.
not true, if this ruins him we'll celebrate
y'all act like activision isn't full of scumbags, f*** them
I mean all Activision's suing would do is determine that Fantano can't sue them and that's it. Nothing else would likely happen.

If Activision won, it'd set a precedent that creators can't sue if their audio is used for "remixes" on sites like TikTok, Youtube, etc
I really don't understand the immense hatred for Fantano, he just shares his opinions. It feels like people get irrationally angry when he doesn't feel the same way about an album that they do
He's tripping for this lawsuit attempt though

They're still mad that he gave MBDTF a 6, Gunna a 1 to not good, and TPAB a 10

Wild how some take it so personally. People are allowed to agree and disagree on different takes in music lol, I vehemently disagree with MBDTF being a 6 but I don’t think that’s a reason to seriously despise the guy
