With this and Silk Sonic being the masses' favorites in 2021 these are some bad times for the average KTT nerd..

Starts with 90 on Metacritic. I don’t know, is it just me or are those Metacritic scores lately giving anybody else the feeling like „nothing is bad or mediocre“ anymore? Silk Sonic 84, Taylor 94, this likely over 90, a bunch of other stuff over 80. I don’t remember this being the case a few years ago.

It exposed music journalism as bullshit. An album that was a 6/10 5 years ago is now a 9/10.. with Silk Sonic it makes sense bc they are highly skilled musicians but obviously that's not what those reviews try to measure. Time to stop caring and just focus on our own journey and listening experience tbh

I browsed a bunch of 2021 random albums by release date and they're all around ~80

it rarely every strays from that range unless they want to go thinkpiece mode. I guess they're just getting lazy

her music is not for me but it's pretty easy to see why so many young women f*** with her

Drake comparison (well their early works) makes sense, they both tell immature/messy stories that mostly ppl 21 and under strongly identify with. But once you use your brain and a***yze their perspectives you find a lot of flaws.

And their music isn't actually that deep and emotional to the point where it can make someone cry or something, which probably adds to the accessibility/replay value.

A lot of reviews saying it’s her best and most challenging album yet.

This place about to be filled with miserable haters the next 7 days.
