... went (up 16%) in the U.S. in the 5th week ending Dec. 23, according to MRC Data.
The album earned 212,000 equivalent album units.
it’s also the biggest fifth week sales since her last album '25' over 5 years ago
So cool
Album is huge but it clearly doesnt have the cultural significance of 21 or even 25
Havent heard a song of it outside tbh
And i heard songs of the other albums when they releasaed

I think we need to let that cultural impact stuff go in the 2020s
The web is making culture too fragmented to have 1 album really take over.
like that taylor swift album sold hella, yet nobody i know or around has even heard of it.

Alot of how we listen to music has changed since her last album. I havent heard anything off CLB outside Way 2 Sexy & i know its one of the biggest releases of the year.
Unless you’re a fan, you can easily avoid the big hits in comparison to 5 years ago

Eh 25 basically coasted off the success of 21. Easy On Me is a much better song than Hello.

Hello got played way more and was way more popular. Not arguing about song quality

This is true imo. With radio dying out and (presumably) fewer social events due to Covid, you really can just miss a lot of s*** regardless of its popularity if you only listen to certain artists or genres.

Is that just based on memory? They both did similarly on the charts.

This
Yeah streaming has completely ruined how people consume music
All albums come and go now.
