each week billboard track the streams, sales and radio play of every song for 7 days and calculate the most popular song over that 7 day period.

Adele released her single a few hours before that tracking period starts (it starts Thursday/Friday at midnight ET time). As a result the first few hours of its release got counted in last weeks tracking period rather than the coming week. even though it was only 5 hour worth of song streams and sales she still moved enough units to be the 66th biggest song for last week
