I mean the last episode of the original series showed Marceline and bubblegum getting together, Finn and Jake's treehouse destroyed and is regrowing, Betty turned into Glob, and Simon was free from the crown

What happened to Finn

In the current day in the ending song he was chilling and living his life seeing the humans pull up.

Time skip he got reincarnated

Bro this s*** is so good. They exceeded expectations with this reboot hopefully they add more seasons

That ending was really rushed ngl. I wanted more between Simon and Betty. Too much time was wasted on that stupid Scarab fight. As a villain, Scarab just does nothing for me. Feel like we could of benefitted from a couple more episodes to give Simon a proper conclusion

Def rushed by the episode limit but AT always retcons stuff and fills in the blanks

And now considering it’s the most popular series on the whole Max streaming service(bear in mind it’s not available in countries that don’t have Max) the show will continue to get spin offs until the writers get bored(which will never happen these people live and breathe Adventure Time) and we’ll keep getting new lore dropped

So in that perspective I loved the whole series and the ending too

The step up in animation is very good too

And really nothing can compare to Adventure Time

Yeah but this seems like the last time we will explore Simon's character unfortunately. I feel there should of been more time spent on that reunion between Simon and Betty as well as a proper resolution to his character. Also wish Marceline was in this more since she's a big part of Simon's life. Just kinda disappointing cause the past 8 episodes were great. I'm looking forward to what they do next with the Adventure Time story though

I will agree the ending is rushed, and the last two episodes makes it really clear they wanted to spend more time with the multiple realities scenario and formula. I.e spending time in Shermy and Beth’s future Ooo

Scarab was a two dimensional villain, and while entertaining and cool had a really simple motivation. The final fight with him was kind of meh although it was fun to guess why he imprisoned some of the people he did, one was literally an island.

The Betty/Golb Simon stuff was done well. And the Lich dying in that scenario doesn’t really matter, since he already dispersed his cursed arm into every other reality where another Lich could exist and likely does.

Overall really good show, 7.8/10 really wish they stuck that landing

I feel like they did simon dirty with the retcon. Made the relationship between him and Betty feel more one sided.

They didn't do him dirty. Bro has been obsessed and going crazy the entire time under the crown and as Simon without Betty.

Bro wanted to off himself, but he was too afraid to do that too.

Him moving on and accepting he has a 2nd chance at life cause of Betty is a great closing to his arc. Bro is in therapy.
