What f***ing idiot in the state department thought it was a good idea to funnel like $50bn in weapon sales into this group on the recommendation of the ISI for no reason other than the fact that the ISI recommended it

How desperate was the Reagan Administration to secure this PR victory

The Taliban filled the power vacuum that came with the collapse of the Soviet backed government

    Actually they killed their president

The US established a Narco-state and their war killed 47 000 civilians.

Not wrong but like, I dont know, it seems like literally zero good options for afghanistan

The preceding taliban emirate of afghanistan made its money via the sale of opium and mismanaged the country so badly it ran out of medicine

I will post a US Congressional Report that shows that the majority of US weapons sales went into what is now the Taliban on the recommendation of the ISI

“Mujahideen” is not even an organizational term

The fact that there is a "government" in place gives me hope it can serve as a foundation regardless of who takes power

America leaving is all nice and good but only under one condition that is If Iran's regimme changes at the same time. Ayatollah has to go so that democratic governments can form in iraq syria and afghanistan. But ofcourse that's not what the lobbyists wish, they want chaos in the region to steal the resources and use the islamic republic as a proxy to fund the fundementalists.

Right now iranian people putting pressure on the islamic republic is the only thing that is trembling the status quo

They are allies behind the scenes as they both serve the same master (Uncle Sam)

I guess the "peace" talks held between Taliban and Afghan govt in Tehran earlier this year is coming to fruition now

Man what are you talking about

    Iran supports bashir assad
    Helps secure americans interest there

    Supports Azarbaijan smashing the Armenians.
    Helps secure Zionists interest there

Supports the Taliban both in the 90s and now.
    Taliban is linked to CIA.
    Helps secure american interest there.

Supports and arms Hamas and Hizbullah
Zionists love Hamas' their antics help justify zionists brutal actions.
    Helps secure Zionists interest there.

Iran meddling in elections in Iraq in favor of shias aint a new thing. Even in 2010 biden had to make a trip to iraq to help settle an election crisis in favor of Iran.

I dont know man, all the events that been happening during my lifetime make me a bit skeptical.
