Metallica is a GOAT band though.
Also, Funkadelic and Sly & The Family Stone deserve a shoutout too despite White Rock publications writing them out of the "rock" genre.

Lowkey, I'm starting to realize just how much the British destroy America when it comes to rock bands.
we'd never get non-singing band beatles if not for mccartney touring the us and getting hip to motown bassists though. dylan introduced the entire band to weed too. zep and sabbath were playing straight up american blues stuff, bill ward was swinging like the best of them. thats before we even get to the rolling stones. the only ones that were reeeeally out there on their own were crimson i think
i think the conditions were good for something like uk rock music to happen there at that time but the influence was always coming from over the pond

New york really has the US on their back as far as rock goes
New York actually has a pretty dope new wave scene as well ad No Wave which is just like jazz and punk mixed together basically. We still get smoked tho we fr cant see the UK with rock, but we beat their ass with rap

I also think America not recognizing many Black bands as "Rock" played a role too.
Even Tina Turner had to fight hard to be deemed a Rock act as opposed to a Soul one.
But yeah...A lot of British rock bands studied the American blueprint then went on to put their own spin to it.
