For me the top 5 this year is

1. after hours

2. chromatica - lady gaga

3. mountain of memory - emancipator

4. Energy - disclosure

5. either savage mode II, simulcast by tycho, or maybe the Dua Lipa album

chromatica is really really good and if I wasn't such a Weeknd stan I might like it better than after hours, but ultimately after hours takes the cake for me

Dark Lane was aight, if you listen to like three songs or so, or are just putting it on in the background, it's great. But ultimately it was too simple and repetitive for me, not to mention no real arc like a real album. It was good for what it was in Drake's trajectory and it had some bangers, but I wouldn't call it an AOTY contender by any means, certainly not compared to Chromatica or After Hours

After Hours made me realize how fye Singles can be in context of albums when it finally drops, Heartless & Blinding Lights slap 100x harder within the context of the album than they did hearing them by themselves, he's a genius for that
