Do you prefer a mixture of different sounds, quality music with great singles but no concept
OR
A singular concept with a concise sound
AH easily
Dawn fm it isn’t close
AH put me to sleep
Honestly too early for me to make a real opinion
But based off first impressions from these two weeks alone I’d say Dawn FM is hitting me way harder than After Hours did.
It's quite literally the red pill vs the blue pill my friends
After hours… i liked a few songs on there.
After Hours. Not even close.
The After Hours era had great music, lots of different things on the album for people to enjoy which is why I think a lot of casual Weeknd fans like AH more.
but I feel like he really committed to one sound on Dawn FM and honed in on it and got some really crazy results. Songs like HDIMYLM and Don’t Break My Heart you can hear he was dipping into those sounds on Starboy but really went balls to the wall on Dawn
Plus Less Than Zero is probably my favorite pop song from Abel ever
Dawn
Only like some of AH, loved Dawn for the most part
After Hours. Not even close.
It's not even f***ing close zack
Gimmie BOTH
Pop both pills at once
To those who say After Hours, what is it about After Hours that draws you in more or what is it about Dawn that turns you away?
Other way around for those who pick Dawn
Dawn FM. I cannot connect to AH at all as much as I’ve tried. Dawn is such a much better listening experience

The heights of AH is what makes it an easy choice for me. Dawn is good but I'm not dying to listen to 90% of the album. I only added 2 songs on my playlist. Meanwhile AH got some insane songs like After Hours which imo is up there with his best work
After Hours had higher highs but a bunch of skips, Dawn FM has no skips but no songs as good as Alone Again or After Hours.
After Hours is Abel at the peak of his pop sound. Dawn FM is a huge step down and doesn't manage to make use of the concept with more tracks them After Hours had (because its not as focused and executed as good)

Nice, I remember someone said in the Dawn thread that they appreciated After Hours because of its standout tracks like After Hours or Faith, and said that Dawn didn’t really have any big standouts like that, but makes for it in the fact it’s such a cohesive listen from front to back.
Still too early to decide but After Hours might be the best song he's ever made
dawn, ah is mid
After Hours had a concept though imo
After Hours had a concept though imo
Def had a concept, it just isn’t in your face as Dawn’s is

Dawn has some outright boring songs to me. Out of time, Here We Go Again, Best Friends, Starry Eyes, I heard you're married
I can let after hours play through from start to finish for the most part

Real
The highs of AH, such as After hours song, escape from la, faith, until i bleed out is too much
Then u got bangers like hardest to love and too late
Legendary intro with alone again
After Hours had a concept though imo
It did but it was very loose in comparison to what Dawn FM is
dawn
both great
