for example, everytime i start UTOPIA all i can hear is Chase B’s concert intro and the yelling he was doing in between the cuts of the beat and the last yell he does before the beat drops and Travis pops out
another example is the beat drop from euphoria, all I can hear is the firework pop as the beat drops from the pop out show
that s*** heighten the music for me. what examples you got?
every time i hear touch the sky i imagine kanye running away during that fast part of his verse
every time i hear touch the sky i imagine kanye running away during that fast part of his verse
i remember that, hilarious
i dont find live music changes my perspective on a specific song that much really, unless they perform it like ass
I did a lot of molly and went to a ton of live music events in college.
Most songs I've heard in real life end up leaving me with some kind of connection, but there's some that can immediately make me feel like im rolling t*** again. Gud vibrations by nghtmre/slander and take u there by Jack u immediately come to mind, the entirety of peace is the mission by major Lazer (first time I candy flipped on a Tesla I saw them do it in full, 2016), a lot of Aa by bauuer too. Most somewhat beloved future bass songs around that era do it, and of course Hellifornia. A lot of flume songs too.
Seeing new musicians live first hits me hard in general still, saw FACS open for mdou moctar now everytime I listen to them it hits hard. Similiar story to how I found brainstory too.
I saw knocked loose twice last year, once prior to the album releasing, and a lot of that album takes me back to both shows. Drain opened and played feel the pressure, now it takes me back every time I hear it.
One reason I love live music is because I generally take new appreciation of what I've been listening to. Especially true with hardcore bands that are just better at performing than releasing studio music. I've seen spaced multiple times but it took 2 live shows before I really liked putting on full albums by them. I hope the same happens when I see cemetary girl in about a week. Good music but I gotta see them live I think

The Ineffable Truth while candy flipping
damn I knew I f***ed with you haha, that sounds just like me in college lmao. Bro there’s this live version of a remix by Rufus Du Sol that they played at their headliner set at a festival I was at, I have a recording of that and I could never find it in my phone…man I tried to look for that remix for months cause it changed my whole perspective on the song
damn and I think that might be sort of how I process s*** too, I either gotta give it a few listens to get used to the sonics before I give it a full play through or I just go see the act live then work backwards from there, that’s how I got into Jordan Ward cause he was opening for 6lack and I just thought buddies music was okay (my girl loved it) so when we went to the tour and he was opening I got see his set and it made me an instant fan cause of his happy go-lucky energy and I went home and the album hit different
man I love music and how you can’t determine it. Damn you got a lot of dope stories, feel free to keep sharing brother, I love concerts and how people experience them. my best friend and girl saw their favorite artist all time front row for the first time with me cause I surprised them with tickets, that’s just how much this music s*** mean to me
