Kendrick chose to go against the grain of the usual SB formula of performing old hits and use the slot as a statement for this GNX era. Obviously that subversion was going to put people off who expected mostly GKMC-DAMN era cuts based on the usual formula.

I totally agree that all those aspects of the show were fire

I think where Kendrick fell short was in his actual performance though, breath control wasn’t where it normally is

I think he got too hyped early on and put himself in a position where he was trying to catch his breath for the rest of the show. I think that if he just kept it chill and confident throughout like the pop out it would’ve been better and his verses would’ve had the impact we are used to.

Also they should’ve cut this man mic up man wtf it’s mf the superbowl I’d rather it be too loud than lost in the mix like it was. Probably was some fat white engineer with a mullet with the baldie in the middle who never engineered a rap show in his life
