in terms of comparing this to the Dr Dre show....

Kendrick's show was better from a stage production, choreography, cinematography perspective.

where the Dre show was better was in playing the hits and transitioning from song to song. from a DJ perspective (hyping up the audience by going from song to song in a way that feels like a flow and progression), dre's performance was easily better.

and this is why i just wish kendrick had slightly tweaked his show to be basically the same production with just a different set list and different song transitions

I doubt Nas vs Hov was as bad as this discussion wise

It definitely wasn’t because Hovengers were never this batshit crazy, Aubrey’s Angels are glorified Twitter pop stans

calling a spade a spade. did i want trump to win? f*** no. but there was no way kamala had a chance. you cannot win an election in 4 months. trump had been running since they removed him from office in 2021 lol

if Dems want to take back control, they have to start by running better campaigns. cause the current “republicans are bad” is not working

Dems: Vote for us cus at least we're not that guy.

    (Lose)

Dems: Wait, why did that guy win

I feel like if he just slipped in a couple of GKMC songs the set woulda been perfect

I still liked the set a lot but that was my main gripe.

he was literally able to say who’s the CEO of universal, helped launch Sexyy Red and Ice Spice just 2 years ago, literally got a stadium rented out for him by Billboard to promote CLB and all the tabloid behind that

come on gang. one of the lamest and just plain ignoring the facts viewpoints anyone can have on Drake is “he’s never had the machine behind him like this” when he’s literally had the machine behind to the point they SHIFTED THEIR BUSINESS MODELS for 14 years over and over with Drake at the forefront until this year when he finally experienced what it’s like to not have the machine

drake was trying to sign ice spice to chubbs' label and luciens son found out and sniped her to 10k

sexy redd is a gamma artist, a label he's involved with (no relation to UMG)

the stadium is literally standard at that point when ur making the company insane bread

dont think you all really know whats going on

remember he took shorty (fucking Amari Bailey’s mom. DRAKE IS CORNY) on a date night to the stadium and posted her on a magazine cover during CLB rollout with the heart in his hair?

It’s more of a valid argument I think. Takeover has some of the most quoted rap lines in history, and was an amazing diss on its own.

Family Matters got completely s***ted on by meet the grahams and then Not Like Us flushed the toilet on it

    Smacked Voodoo

Ultimately this was just the show we were expected to get from Kendrick. Many references to Black culture being American culture. References to Black people building this country but still being told how to act. Anybody expecting Kendrick to set the flag on fire or anything is delusional and unrealistic.

Just take the symbolism in the performance for what it is and just enjoy Black culture and music on display.

Niggas keep talkin about Noname knowing damn well she ain't ever gonna get to the levels or platform that Kendrick, Cole, and a bunch of other artists got. Just read her book club books and pipe down.

Your points have really hit the nail on the head of something people dont realise about Kendrick, because since TPAB, he has really been put on the pedestal by the industry and media to be the voice of the people

When in reality, he has only ever addressed issues that are connected to his own experiences. Which is primarily the diaspora of being a black american, aswell as other personal stories

Thats not me saying i wouldnt want him to talk about bigger s*** like palestine and such, but its why ive never expected him to and he has tried with DAMN and Morale to tell people not to put him on that level of socio-political activism

yeah, correct me if I’m wrong but that stage was fully set up for the crowds involvement throughout the whole thing. this show was purely made for television it felt like

    Well be tired of it

It's still very entertaining for me

Also the Nas v Jay was for the streets of New York. It was very bad on the ground. The radio and TV was talking about non stop

Drake v Kendrick is just more amplified because of internet
