I get where you're coming from and you might have a point. But this argument is kind of ridiculous. You can have a criticism of the tracklist without accusing kendrick of making "slavery music", but now you've connected the two so you can't have a real discussion. Be more open to a conversation and others opinions.

im not commenting on this specific situation, but in general is it considered racist to call a group of people tribal regardless of their race? I tried to look it up honestly but all I could find were native americans saying it isnt racist because its been used in europe too to define groups of people for centuries. But I guess it depends on context too.

Yes individually you can but collectively you can’t. I don’t care what you or any single person personally believe but We heard the world tell this man for a decade plus he makes slavery music. That his albums pander to white critics. He uses the superbowl to play records from his album that has his most bops, the album where he owns all the masters to those songs and is west coast sounding and all those same people are saying he should’ve played the aforementioned “slavery music”. That’s unfair in my opinion and hypocritical.

It’s either you guys want the slavery music or not but it can’t be both.

And this is not me being mad that anyone wanted a different set list but the people that are complaining also shared the slavery music sentiment. It’s confusing.

fair enough, i never thought kendrick made slavery music, in my time of listening to kendrick i was pretty young so i was just excited for any song, and i didnt enjoy the setlist and wish he played a couple of his older songs that also couldve represented similar themes
