Saw someone point this out a while back, Drake could always just BUY the artsy s*** if he wanted too. Not like he doesn't have access to every one of the artists and every one of the producers under that umbrella.

He doesn't wanna make that kind of music.

Honestly it would just come off as him pandering critics imo if he DID decide to do it.

I agree that drake has been very artistic over his career. He’s constantly trying new sounds and pushing his versatility. I’m just hoping for that next venture on clb

yeah i feel you but that's not really what i meant. love sandra's rose and those types of introspective records that i know he always delivers, but i was more referring to the production side of things i guess.

It’s the wildest thing to me. He’s clearly been the front runner of this generation and still people doubt him and talk about his fall off. According to HHT, he has yet to make a better album than take care, but the fact is he has gotten better every year of his career and he’s made multiple bodies of work that are better. The numbers back this statement up. That’s why I’m not worried about CLB or when it’s coming because we all know what’s going to happen when he drops.

Also, everyone forgets, but when take care dropped it was generally s*** on too. At minimum they s*** on drake being too soft even if the album was good. So I mean we are just in this cycle of delusion with every drake release. Someone is lying because he’s the most streamed artist of the year (to date) and he’s basically been radio silent with the exception of scary hours 2. So clearly the appeal is still there and it’s by a huge margin.

Well said. Also, he'll be #1 most-listened on everyone's Spotify/Apple Music year-end breakdown so someone is clearly lying. If the quality of his music has been so bad for as long as some people claim, he still wouldn't have the grip he has on the game right now.

So I don’t get the people trying to tell Drake stop making catchy music.

That is impossible for both of them to do and not realistic to who they are.

I have always love/hated this a***ogy. Bc Drake should never stop his fadeaway jumper. I just think it undersells him bc he’s talented enough to also hit Steph Curry like shots.

I think we all can kinda agree what his fadeaway jumper is but the catch is what is his Steph Curry shot? Depending on who you ask, maybe he hits it all the time. To others, maybe he hasn’t. But ppl will never agree on what it is bc all this s*** is subjective and based on preference tbh

Drake certainly can and has been very artistic in the past and I would love to see more of that. What’s next is a fun song imo but I’m tired of just looped beats that don’t go anywhere musically. Give me some drake over live instruments recorded by actual musicians rather than another tay keith or oz beat. I know it’s unlikely he would do something like that but I think it would be really cool
