this album is really gonna make or break drakes career from here on. i feel like he’ll either be super passionate and go all in on the music, or move on to other areas that he dabbled in like with virginia black and top boy.
new artists are coming for his crown, post malone is probably the closest in his lane rn. he’s like drake, but more poppy and also gets the rednecks and nerds involved.
i feel like thats why drake has been gathering his old enemies around him this past year (meek, chris brown, etc). this year is the only year he hasnt dropped an album since 2014, and 2015 he went f***ing crazy with the beef WATTBA, and IYRTITL.
he might take the kanye beef to the next level, drop a hardcore hip hop album again, and drop WATTBA2 (we already know thats been in the works for a while). might be looking for a repeat of that year tbh

post Malone is nothing like drake.

    legit nothing

post is like 75% pop/rnb 25% hip hop, with drake its like 50/50. i dont see why yall pretend like you cant see the similarities in the lane they occupy
they both blend rnb and hip hop elements. posty just went more pop recently
yall really telling me people who listen to drake probably listen to post malone as well?

I doubt that he would release an album every year if he was not hungry or inspired. His voice and rapping style just changed post iyrtitl

He can still spit, but I feel like his cadence is just lazy sometimes. 8/10 and Sandras Rose was HUNGRY Drake

I agree. Since 2018 that lazy cadence and lazy singing is holding back songs that would be 8 and up.

Instead his half hearted performance and energy brings the tracks down to a 6.

He still a great songwriter and hit maker. One of my biggest concerns for the next album is will anybody in ovo tell him he not doing his job.

How do you tell a person breaking records and selling millions they half assed while recording ?

He may sell millions but do the fans love it like they use too.

Great music being held back by his performance on the tracks.

I honestly don't think his voice changed. If anything it's the production that changed and has him using different flows and I feel like they mix his vocals differently and use too much tuning at times.

Maybe it's out of insecurity, as he has hinted towards, or they think it helps with the success of the music. But I don't think it's actual laziness most of the time.

The way I perceive Drake, he's very aware of the finer linings of his music and his recent output and certain lyrics make me believe he will go back to that 13/14 delivery and confidence.

If you play songs like survival, emotionless, 8 out of 10, no guidance and gold roses alongside his older material, from a pure vocal standpoint theres not much of a difference imo.

Knew I forgot something. Them 2 can definitely produce on there. Think I also forgot noel who probably had the best production on scorpion

Not at all. He should take another year or two to even start a rollout

I don't think that's necessary for Drake. He has the fan base and demand to drop once a year.

That’s not the question. The quality has suffered severely dropping yearly he needs to take his time and put out something on par with his capability
