This album is very NWTS in structure and song type ratio… more than people are even paying attention to honestly. That’s partly why the main criticism you see is that it’s “safe” and “the same old Drake”. Every song on here is solid at minimum, in different ways that they needed to be. For example, Way 2 Sexy may (consensus) be a wack song but the video takes it up another three levels. No other song on this album had better video potential. Not one. The song serves it’s purpose on the album.

A song like Love All had to be repurposed… it’s been out for ages and I genuinely think Drake sent Jay a few songs and told him to pick which one he wanted to hop on. Him on that song isn’t a clean fit, as we know. Enough to where I don’t think Drake said “hmmm, Jay would be great on this” himself. Jay clearly wanted to get that verse out about Dame. His verse’s lyrical content definitely fit Drake’s verses and hook.. but not the outro that was on the leak. Which obviously, is not present on the album version for that exact reason.

This album will grow on everyone and we’ll see some monstrous songs off of this commercially. I give it an 8 out of 10.

I thought the leak was perfect idk, maybe he felt like adding Jay would do something to the song but it fell flat. Like just put Jay on some soulful s*** it ain't that hard
