thats one thing I talked to my friend about recently. When Kanye was in his edgiest trump supporting era he attracted the extreme kinda white folk.
The YT White MAGA folk knew co-opting an influential African American rapper would be a good way to bolster their supporter base and act as if any of their (shitty) ideas would be able to gain traction due to him.
All his impressionable fans thought Kanye knew what he was doing.
Drakes career is where it’s at cause he never settled down let’s talk about it.
Only songs that don’t do much for me are Fountains and Knife Talk
knife talk hit 3 rd listen. That s*** is f***in hard. Tems part on fountains saved the song
all of this is making it easy for me to take a break from the internet though. Even my twitter feed is f***ing gross. Im getting late 2020 vibes of negativity on there.
stans from both side are annoying
you can also just enjoy the music
this s*** sound to fire in the car or on speakers

lol my brain would melt being in here
Yeah I agree. I definitely get the argument and I think the times Drake did step out a little bit on this album like N2D proves that he can sound good outside of his zone, but at the end of the day it’s his artistic vision how he makes his albums so I can’t say he should force it just to appease critics. I said earlier ITT but Drake is way more from the school of Jay Z than the school of Kanye and I don’t think people wanna hear that
Where did this whole narrative of “evolving your sound” or just “evolving” come from?
Has it always been around? Of course there’s progression. What do they want Drake to “evolve” to?

Agree re Tems part. Drake sounds kinda aimless.
Just listened to Knife Talk again and I’m kinda warming to it.

When you get in a relationship you have to start splitting time but since all Drake did was focus on himself and his art. He excelled

I’m not quite sure honestly. Some people really do want to see Drake on more left field type things and some people use it as a hyperbolic criticism. Drake may not have dramatic changes in his music, but listen to Comeback Season, TML, or s*** even Take Care and you’ll see a gradual evolution in sounds, rapping, flows etc. That’s why to me it’s more of a difficult critique to argue because although I can see it, a lot more casual fans of his or people who don’t like him may not because they weren’t/aren’t that invested
