I think some of his points were valid and some of them were a bit of a reach. I saw someone in the comments say their reviews are reflective of their personalities and I 100% agree which is why I feel the way Mal feels about CLB. Some people want to dissect it a million different ways which is totally fair for them to do so, but to me I just care about the music. Are the raps good, are beats dope, can I relate, etc. Those things are the reason why I’m a bit Drake fan, not because there’s some profound message in there

Also to be fair though, the more I sit with the album the more I do think that Drake sets high standards just by who he is, and why it’s been received harshly (initially). I think people will come around eventually as they always do but it would be nice to see a super concise project whether it’s an an album, mixtape, whatever. Of course his vision is all that matters and I know whatever he decides to put out I’ll more than likely f*** with it
