Looking back this was a fun Drake album man. Oh and Get Along Better is a beautifully crafted song but I can’t get down with the lyrics for some reason 🥴

still think Way 2 Sexy is one of Drake's worst songs and was an awful gimmick single

but god damn there is so much heat on this album

Pipe Down is top 3 Drake ever

it really is the Drake effect. I didn't like the album at the time because all the songs felt like stuff he'd done before, but I love it now because all the songs fit so perfectly into his catalog while also having their own differentiating factors. the quench for an experimental drake album has been quenched between things like IYRTITL, Honestly Nevermind and even through collabs like Her Loss. letting me go back and appreciate this album for what it was.

i still maintain that with a little rearranging from CLB/DLDT/SH2 and LEAK2020, one can put together the solid, concise 15ish track album that people have been asking for forever

in conclusion, a great f***ing record. when Donda and CLB dropped I was team Donda all day, but it's already starting to sound dated and samey while CLB is aging like fine wine. what a time for hiphop
