one of the only middle-loaded albums iāve ever heard, pretty interesting
Because The Internet is like that
808s to me too, and rodeo
No 808s & Heartbreak is amazing start to finish

i love 808s and think every song on it is great, my favorites are just in the middle

Say You Will is my fav so I couldn't call it middle packed
Just gave this a re listen after FATD and damn i forgot how great this is
You only live twice is so good
I feel like subconsciously people associate the "media consensus" with an album when they think about it regardless of their actual opinion
For example, you think NWTS and you automatically go "classic" or "Drake's best album" or some s***... because that's what you think everyone thinks, even if you don't think it yourself
Anyway my point is I feel like CLB is one of those albums where the media opinion was "it's meh" so much to the point people think it's meh by default but then they go back it and realize they this actually was pretty good and now enough time has passed that they feel like they can express their opinion

Totally agree. Jon Denton for example rated CLB 9/10 after his first listen but when he talked about it in the FATD reaction he seems to like CLB a lot less

If you actually review each song in its own bubble outside of the āmid allegationsā. Majority of the songs are actually really good.
Champagne poetry is that classic rapping drake that people love considered āold drakeā
Papis Home is somewhere between Views and Scorpion but has enough bars in there coupled with a jumpy flow so can be considered relevant for the time
Girls want Girls has itās moments and probably a viral hit for some right / wrong reasons.
In the bible is a good song durk did what he needed to as a feature. Instrumental is nice
Love All - subjectively I prefer it without JayZ and wish he kept the leak outro but still not a BAD song as people make it out to be.
Fair trade - has all the elements of a good drake encompassing new age style beats with drake singing. Majority of people donāt hate this song
Way 2 sexy. Abit corny but does what it needs to. Itās a fun song it has its place (club/outside)
TSU - no more needs to be said. If the intro wasnāt there this wouldāve been an all time great song
From here the run from N 2 Deep, Pipe down (subjectively the best song on here) , Yebbas Heartbreak , No friends in the industry , Knife Talk, 7am on bridle path, Race my Mind, Fountains , Get along better, You Only Live Twice, F***ing Fans and The remorse. Barring IMY2 (because of Kid Cudi) I donāt see any skips in there. All of those have great energy, sonically are produced well and live up to the test of time.
What more do people want? Lol

people always rush to s*** on Drake's album in the first 3 weeks just bc its trendy
then they live with the music and see the value in it
tale as old as time
people gonna be saying the same s*** about FATD in 2 years, they just want to feel part of the 'discourse'

Lol exactly this. Itās even true for his older albums. Drake just posted a screenshot of āreviewsā when Take Care came out and itās literally the same cycle šš
