Unpopular opinion alert I obviously don't know the situation with CLB, but if they are scrambling to finish it, I don't like the idea of cramming this album into January. If it isn't exactly how Drake wants it, then it would be better to have another delay rather than a rushed final product.

He's had all the time in the world.

First he said it would drop last summer. Then before you know it summer went by.

He drops the album title and first single in August. We don't hear anything minus the CLB clothing drop until his birthday, October 24th.

On October 24th he announces the album will be released January 2021. We also knew the album was around 80% done earlier last summer.

With his injury, he's had plenty of time to make adjustments / record.

Not to mention he just got back from a week in a half long vacation. He's had all the time in the world. They must be working on clearing samples or finishing up the little s*** on songs.

It's the 11th, we know another artist in his label is dropping this Friday. They made the trailer with the announcement of January 2021 for a reason, I just don't see the logic of it not being done.

If it's because of COVID, then I'd like to think Drake and his team are smart enough to realize we're going to be in COVID land until mid 2022. Other artists have dropped during COVID. So what if he can't tour and make money, no other artist can and will anytime soon.

I agree with your sentiment, but he announced the album 3 months ago. Surely with no beef/distraction since then, the albums gotta be in a good place by now?

remember he told us the album would come summer 2020 and then didn't say s*** until october

I think the difference then was he was still recording for CLB. Its done now. He should be givin us a official release date by end of this week!
