I know people don’t trust Akademiks but his wording in that car clip has me thinking the push back announcement too.

If I was Drake I'd be watiing to make sure nothing f***ed up happens next week with the inauguration before either dropping the album or beginning the hype for the last week of January.

There's a difference between waiting for the world to be perfect, which is never gonna happen, and being seen as incredibly tone-deaf and releasing an album the same week a homegrown terrorist does something insane.

Most likely nothing will happen but why risk it. By the end of next week, if all goes according to plan, there will be a new epoch in the world and Drake can start it off with a masterpiece. No sense in rushing out news before then. He doesn't need more than a day tops to reach maximum hype levels.

If something terrible happens the whole world stops, if not there's no reason he won't stick to the plan.

the world is at f***ed up place now and s*** won't stop just so drake can drop an album
let's not act like after the inauguration everything will settle down and come back to normal
if he don't want to drop because of that he might as well push it back to 2022

what isn’t different is media coverage, this is the worst pandemic in a 100 years and it’s gotten more coverage than probably any event since a major war

you’re talking about being terrible managers? I guess ovo weren’t thinking too wisely about scheduling a release date in january 2021 during an election year where the current president had promised he wasn’t leaving the white house in peace
