1. We have had 1 song and nothing 5 months later
2. The features going into this era are underwhelming and forgettable. Features tend to elevate the hype for his album eras. We had F***in Problems/No New Friends/etc going into NWTS. We had Work/Where Ya At/etc going into Views. We had Look Alive/Yes Indeed/Walk It Talk It going into Scorpion.
We have You're Mines and Mr. Right Now going into this...
3. He also sort of botched the release of CLB merch and Nocta merch imo. CLB's merch drop was very off the radar and the puffer jacket not being released was a DUB. Also made no sense to drop the album merch so far out from the actual album release. Nocta could had more hype... like commercials, pop-up stores, something.
The easiest thing he can do to get the album hype back on track is the next single is an instant smash/connect with everyone. I just don't want him to drop a song that is weak after all this bad planning cause then it's really gonna be weird going into this album release lol.
If he dropped another I'm Upset/Summer Sixteen type fluke right before the album I'd be pissed.

Dark Lane Demo Tapes literally had a better rollout going into it.
Life Is Good & No Guidance were some of his GOAT features, the leaks and supposed Future/Roddy/Carti collabs had even non-fans excited, and Toosie was still hot and viral. Chicago/When to Say When/War were also some of his most acclaimed songs of the past 5 years when they dropped.

Understand completely. I feel like he was going to drop it certain times it kind of changed his mind about it . LNCL I hope isn’t even on the album anymore . Song a banger but as long as it been I can do without it. The merch dropping this early kind was like eh too . He trying to wait until the world is back normal normal and that’s not happening no time soon. He know the industry moves around him so it is what it is . But he needs to say something if it doesn’t drop this month . He owes us that especially after summer 2020 so ppl mind can be at ease . I’m still excited either way for it . Just hope it is a masterpiece as long as it been

The merch part makes no sense considering the s***s sold out instantly. Nocta especially was perfect. So many dope shots of influencers and celebs in the s*** too. Also, it's not really part of the rollout

One CLB jacket dropping isn’t making up for whatever you felt about the drop
NOCTA drop went as good as it can go? The video was the commercial and billboards went up in more than a handful of major cities IIRCPop up shops? Promoting COVID spread to sell merch? Nah lol

I think the issue isn't him taking a break or whatnot, it's the album being pushed back twice.
He should've never said it was coming Summer, I was fine with it not coming that soon, but there was already some people hurt lmao.
Then he literally dropped merch for the album, released a lead, AND did a trailer for the album with a January date and now that's a lie too....
You can't literally start the whole album rollout then just say 'nvm' and find it unreasonable when people complain.It just looks messy af to have this rollout planned so weak. The takeaway from the Summer pushback should've been 'let me plan how I can do this era during COVID'.
