Listening to The Light by KRIT and realized it takes me back to a pretty stressful time of my life a couple years ago that while a classic album, some lyrics hit a little too deep to be a consistent listen these days.
This in my opinion is one of my favorite hip hop albums of all time, definitely up there for one of my favorite albums period. A childhood staple (REST IN PEACE GIFT OF GAB)
It' also an album heavily associated with my pops, and I'm still at that state of grief that any album that takes me back to riding in his Saturn might emit a flood of tears.
Like I remember the day "Make You Feel That Way" premiered on BET.

Playing through TPAB and as soon as the screams came on I impulsively skipped to the next song cause...yeah. Not ready lolololol.
what bout you?

Too much nostalgia from a moment thats never coming back
Haven't listened to Blonde fully in years because of this. Reminds me of the year I got rejected by my highschool crush due to heightism.
Reminds me too much of the one that got away.

I remember when Donda dropped we were on the outs but I was hopeful. She knew I loved Kanye and I remember checking her story and she put the “you made a choice that’s your bad, single life ain’t so bad” lyrics on her story. Now I can laugh but in the moment it ruined it for me a few months crine

there's plenty of songs i associate with past lovers or people i lost. doesn't stop me from listening to the songs tho

Anything I was listening to in 2020 like After Hours. Just takes me back to Pandemic times.
