    you like oxnard more?!

Just cause Malibu might be better doesn’t mean it’s a huge drop in quality

Born to Die - You know how it is, your first is usually your fav.

Ultraviolence - Moodier, darker, noir-psychedelic, etc. More of my wheelhouse.

Lust For Life - The spiritual successor to BTD and Lana's fan service album.

it's ultraviolence, rockwell and born to die for me

thing with lust for life is that it birthed nfr to some extent, it was one of her most critically acclaimed projects at the time but largely because a few songs showed flashes of what was to come in terms of songwriting with a sound that was more minimal and stripped-down shifting focus from musical grandiosity to a more intimate poetic style

those tracks were more few and far between but critics loved that s*** which is why I feel she took such a liking to that approach

absolutely love nfr tho, might be my fav ngl

nah but Oxnard is dope as hell, not a big drop in quality at all and .Paak has yet to miss since Malibu

I wanted to like it so bad but it was so mid compared to Malibu. He came back hard on Ventura tho

Not mad at that but imo it has no redeeming qualities aside from Tints

i think bbtm was only a little bit lacking compared to kiss land but the stylistic shift turned off lots of kiss land fans. i feel like bbtm is lowkey going to be seen as a classic album in the future.

yikes. oxnard is amazing bro. from the concept to the features being so well executed, i don't know why ppl bash it like it's a notably bad project. guess it just wasn't what people wanted from him

Yeah that’s what my problem was. I guess I was expecting more groovy tracks on it. I love Ventura for the smooth sounds he brought back.

You're absolutely right. Like I said, I prefer the cinematic style but I can respect the stripped down and poetic approach as well. At least her songwriting is receiving more love than it did before when it was playing backseat to the production. I got my hopes up for NFR and was expecting something more fleshed out than what we received. Don't dip your toes in the water, dive in.

I wish this album never existed and that everyone involved in its production should be tried by a high court for their crimes
