cotton dockersI was also done listening to the bands they influenced by the time I got into them but it was just something I enjoyed noticing as a recovering nu-metal fan, haha. Like, I never listen to “Summer Romance” by Incubus anymore, but it was interesting to find out it’s kind of a rip of Faith No More’s “Evidence”. They are a love-them-or-hate-them kind of band, though. There’s a definite layer of cheese there but I still appreciate what they’ve got going on beneath it.
if i'm being honest, what i would've cringed at as cheese 5 years ago i appreciate and find charming now. it makes the music feel more human and lighthearted, if that makes any sense.
