NoirMy dad's generation had albums like Dark Side of the Moon that had classic radio tracks and a great flow.
My generation got something like that with GKMC. You can pull out any song and it's great, but running it back in full is something else.

Nov 2, 2020·editedNoirThe sales were there, the classic singles are there, it's aged so f***ing well too. Kanye and Brion really pioneered something with that record as far as rap goes in its use of organic instrumentation.
I think that it's so thematically similar to CD messes with people a bit and makes them think of it as slightly less special but it's held up even better IMO.
Yeah your last point is definitely what I'm referring to. Of that five album run, LR is by far the most redundant. It also seems the least accessible, if that makes any sense. Like, it's Ye's most dense and heady body of work. So for both of those reasons it seems like the album that gets revisited the least.
Personally I love it though.

the production is fine. nothing special. swimming pools beat is dated for sure but it's still good imo. I love T-Minus' dated production tho.
