Doesnt the American actor explicitly list some of the positive qualities in Digger to try and humanize the story a bit. He calls him poised and some other stuff.
To me that scene was showing that for the Europeans there is some catharsis in the satire. Like the director says “they have to laugh at it” because what other choice do they f\*\*\*ing have. But for the American where he might feel some sort of shared responsibility subconsciously for the impact of his country he’s like ok we f\*\*\*ing get it whats the point of all this. Which ties back to a lot of the points the movie is trying to make about the true value and impact of art (also seems to be kind of mirroring how critics are reacting to the movie in real life lol)

Kenny Rockwell isn’t evil but he also isn’t doing this out of the kindness of his heart
Most reviews that like this movie recongnize this or believe this . Those that find him sincere tend to view this movie as pretentious overly long and hypocritical

His security company who can trace anyone on the world is the main profit but you think he on no way works with the dystopian government? He doesn’t manufacture the alarm ? The robots ? The phones . It’s a convenient coincidence his daughter is found at the climax and that Kenny hears him say his daughter is missing ? I think there are too many coincidences to believe that . The movie literally ends with alarm playing and song “ look what you’ve done to MY SONG”

All of these things are true, yes, but the movie is not primarily about Kenny Rockwell and his intentions. The movie directly laments those who think that a movie like this SHOULD be primarily focused on someone like him in a serious manner
