They've made so many of these about ANTIFA or w/e. The Purge movies basically became this too. Bushwick was one. Many others

Whoever said in the other thread that it looks like a continuation of the movie Leave the World Behind was spot on
immediately what i felt too like these dudes just got the script for societal collapse and said “this gonna get the people going”
garland isn't the first director that would come to mind when thinking about someone who can shoot an action movie and sort of feels like 2018 twitter wrote it, but im intrigued
Not my cup of tea either will watch only cuz I believe this is his last directing film
wow, I had no idea he was retiring directing until you mentioned it
at least he’ll still keep writing screenplays - maybe he’ll come back to directing later down the road

Wait he’s done?
Movie feels kinda below Alex Garland as a creative. Gotta be more to the plot than Le Race War, where’s the sci fi thesis on the human condition?
Wait he’s done?
maybe? the article I read was paraphrasing another one so I found the original article and he says,
“It could be in part a product that I ended post-production on Men literally 48 hours before principal photography of Civil War so maybe that was just exhausting. But I wonder whether it’s time to step back. Civil War will definitely be my last film as a director for at least a while. Definitely.”
idk he started on Civil War so quickly after Men so he definitely could just be burnt out for a while
