As corny as this sounds Diary of Alicia Keys is the first album that made me feel something, it was the beginning of my fandom of music. I was 8 years old and up to that point music to me was either what I heard in church or what was popular on the radio. That album was the first full body of work that I felt like I understood and truly vibed with.

My sister used to play that album and Confessions nonstop. The three month period where Diary of Alicia Keys, College Dropout, and Confessions dropped were really what shaped my taste in music now that I think about it.

What a GOAT run of albums

2003-2004 was truly a golden era for black music.
