I wanted to preface that those songs are still fun to bump and gets in my nostalgia bag…but I wanted to say that musically it’s TRASH

Specifically my biggest gripe about these tracks are how noticeably overproduced they are, like it’s super loud, drenched in auto tune and reverb, brittle and cold sound all around. Like I tried to play Ellie Goulding song Lights in my headphones and s*** I felt like there were knives shoved into my ears

I’m so glad that newer pop tracks have more of a minimalistic sound and drifted away from this weird, overwhelming production

Like legit I can only play them in the whip once in a while and that’s it…

Just listened to this, good melody and bob had good verses. But like…the hook sounds so fuzzy and weird in my headphones I hate it lmao
