So I’m studying at this coffee shop today and this guy coming out is like nice coat...next thing I know he’s asking me what I’m studying.

...thirty minutes later he rambling about how it refreshing to hear my thoughts and how much he hates society and how his “mentors” brought him out of a mental cage of society pushing him to do things he doesn’t love....

So while I thought this was initially just some innocent coffee shop talk, it quickly turned into some weird s*** where a white guy is speaking in a learned-charismatic tone and conducting a weird mock interview of me....and tbh this took a second to process and I unconsciously nodded to some statement he made and now I’m stuck with this book he loaned me titled The Business of the 21st Century

To top all this s*** off, this man really walked off after telling me to a***yze cash flow pyramids, leverage, and some other bullshit.

Wtf do I do with this book? He said he lent it to me? Should I just block his number and never speak of this again? Or do this after I return his book?

Some similar s*** happened to me while at a seasonal warehouse job.

A mf randomly started talking to me and I thought he was cool and then tried to ask if I was interested in running things, building with others financially, etc etc.

He tried to get my number and wanted me to meet other "colleagues" when our shift ended and I just made some s*** up because it caught me off guard. Like how'd we have a normal conversation and it turned into you questioning what my future is and could be. Ended up handing me some kind of professional lookin business card.

What made it even more awkward is that our paths crossed throughout the day and whenever I saw him I'd hit him with the and I asked others if they knew him and they'd be like "nah we just avoid him"

The running joke around the place was that these scamming corps purposely plant recruiters into jobs like ours because seasonal workers tend to look for even more extra cash on the side (amazon/jc penny's bloomberg-type jobs) and are typically dumb as f*** seeing as most are high school flunkies or just old, impressionable people.

Bro the most ironic part that really brought me to believing that my presumption of this guy was correct was when he started dissing know Pyramid Schemes And contrasting his job

I few years back I got semi-dragged into some Herbalife s*** trying to hookup with a female I had thing for. It’s a cult/multi-level marketing scam. I’ve seen it first hand.

I got out quickly, but I did waste some time and a small amount of money.

Damn you hate to see it. When I went to the coffee shop in school to do work s*** was calm and no scammers.

OP you gotta return it then block his number and never return to that coffee shop again. He’ll be waiting for you.

These motherfuckers like to sit in coffee shops with their laptops open showing a bunch of numbers to try to entice people into asking what they do.

Went to Walmart one day to get a case for my iPhone and the dude that got it out from behind the locks tried to pitch me some s*** about forex. Said his mentor is rich and that he himself was waking up to hundreds a day. He told me he was quitting that job in a week, went back a month later and saw him walking around still working there

Had one Old friend trick me into going to the Primerica meeting lmao.
S*** went on for an hour and the diversity in the crowd was the biggest wtf. They went on and on about how they can make us millionaires and how we can be driving a mustang and s***.
One of the speakers comes up to me afterwards telling me if I’m ready to give $150 to learn from them. I’m like “nah I don’t believe this” he gets all mad yelling “you’ll never make as much money as this in your live!”
I cut that dude off and haven’t heard from him since other then he was trying to sell to mutual friends parents

Had another friend join in college. I’m all like “hey do you but don’t even talk to me about or try to get me to join” one week later he’s texting me to go to a meeting. Cut that dumbass off too
