That MNIMN cover is technically a combination of official covers. Those two design elements weren’t meant to be together and to me are stronger as individual hero elements.

What they need to do is give you a set of a official covers if they are already made so we can select which one we prefer. Official alts only

they have the main cover that they think fits the album and then a few other officially made ones that didn't make the cut. but still have been approved by the artist.

for all award shows and statistical reasons, the main cover art will be used, for the fans library.. use what you want

Yeah exactly that’s sort of the way app icons work on iOS. Developers give users the option to select from variations of the icon if they want.
