ras kass and xzibit arent really gangsta rap more on the conscious side with a non traditional west coast sound guys like mc eiht, spice 1, lady of rage, andre nikatina are straight up gangsta rap with a strong west coast sound.

This is wrong lol especially regarding xzibit n even Alks, Rass yeah even tho he still has gang side to him

And again, thats part of my barely "gangsta rap" part of the list

Andre Nikatina isnt even all that gangsta lol that nigga is weed & psych rap with some comedy

we'll agree to disagree xzibits first album that came out in 1996 doesnt have a traditional west coast sound same with ras kass so their alternative imo.

Idk how unless you consider GFunk-like all west coast "traditional" even tho it isnt. Especially the more North you go which has always had a different sound such as Hireo & Mischief, even people like 90s e40 doesnt have the "traditional/mainstream steroetype" of west coast aka Dre DJ Quik sound (which is funny because Xzibit n Rass Kass would even work n link up with Dre). Even tho the West has always been so much more like Cypress, Pharcyde n the two mentioned above.

Xzibits first album still has hella gang s*** all over it too lol.

Idk, feels like youre stereotyping the west & cherry picking the content of what makes "gangsta rap" & what doesnt. When theres hella niggas that do what xzibit does, talk about street life in a matter of fact manner while also having some hardcore records here n here with it.

Makes no sense to me but yeah, zibit wasnt even underground.

While i still posted artists such as:

    Abstract Tribe Unique
    Pharcyde
    Deltron
    Casual
    Rappin 4 Tay
    Murs
    Madlib
    Etc.

Rappers that are more experiemntal, "weird", or just more chilled out.

The only actual gansta rappers there are:

    King Tee
    Mr. El Capone
    MC Eiht
    The Luniz
    Lady of Rage
    Raided X
    Mac Mall
    Spice 1s later career

(And still even then, only Rage n Tee has the "stereotype" west gang sound 💀)

    But yeah, i digress lol.

They have a lot of themes n sound & kass has even worked with dre, yeah to a degree lol & they have other projects especially Alks where theyre more "hardcore"

    Kass is the least tho

But overall "gangsta rap" is a very reductive & bullshit term for the most part anyways that mostly only people outside of west uses & blankets across

😎 it’s that debut single when your ‘staff in house producer’ can kill a track that’s how cold death row was. the musician in the crew is nice with it when he was just called priest - before soopafly. 😎

Kinda crazy how Death Row n Aftermath had hella artists that "no one" knows about

People usually only think of 3 to maybe 7ish if youre lucky but they had so much in their years

I wonder how far Ruthless would have gone if eazy didnt die with Pac signing, theyre roster also really underrated such as Above the Law

Ty, Im from Oakland & lived all over the bay n got family all over LA with parents that were hiphop heads from the 80s to 2005ish

Sick of niggas saying anything west that mentions a gun or any type of street life is "gangsta rap" even tho south n east does the same s***, or when they have a really linear understanding/knowledge of west coast smh

WEST IS SO MUCH MORE AND "GANGSTA RAP" FOR THE MOST PART IS SOME BULLSHIT BY POLITICIANS AND EAST COASTERS
