It’s A Thousand Suns
I listened to Hybrid Theory and Meteora right before it, and while I can see the appeal in the catchiness, the lyrics and vibe just register as cringe fake deep to me. Like, it often sounds like they care more about rhyming s*** together than the actual substance of what they’re saying. Maybe I’m not getting it tho, I’m not tryna offend.
But the lyrics and concepts and approach feel waaaaay more interesting on this one. The sci-fi, apocalyptic, war-torn vibe actually feels genuine for once. I know that Linkin Park is very much not for me, but am I alone on this?

I AM a little bit of loneliness, a little bit of insecure
A Thousand Suns is a fantastic album, kudos to you for giving it a chance
IMO as a person who grew up a fan, LP’s discog is spotty as hell but the highs are high and the impact they had with their sound is pretty impressive, particularly with the first two albums. ATS is a weird one in that it came after the “pop sell out” album but before the two “ok we’re proving our s*** again” albums, so it kind of hit a transition period for their sound and imo was more focused than anything that came before or after.
I’d say if you like it, obviously there are commonalities with the first two albums, but I’d also recommend checking out Living Things and The Hunting Party for what it sounds like when they dive fully into the electronic half or the rock half of their sound, respectively.
