U.S. still the greatest country in the world. Think of allllllll the freedoms we have right? Pick one of those freedoms, any of them...

There's one country somewhere in the world who is like "nope. you cant do that here."

It's hilarious how idiots complain about freedom of speech in the US when there is countries where you will literally be put in prison for saying something

Canada has it much better tbh America just has better views

America has a way better job market and housing is far more affordable

aside from that, I would take Canada.

If only there was a country that combined both pros.

    Free Healthcare
    Cheap Housing
    Great Job Market
    Diverse

    fun guy

bruh salaries in finance/tech are so divorced from the national average, they're in a bubble of their own compared to pre much every other industry

in the field i wanna pursue, 50-60k is a blessed salary. meanwhile these tech mfs are starting out at 100k

yeah but I bet your career is more stable and isn't going through layoffs

50/60k salary>>>100k Salary for a job that can get you laid off at any time

You're misrepresenting how most hate speech laws work in western european countries.

It is not that you will be locked up because you got caught saying something extremist to your friends it is about about the public distribution of hate no different to any defamation laws except it is aimed at entire groups of people.

Also get off your high horse when your states implement dont say gay bills and can now reject customers if theyre lgbt

Yeah maybe on the surface it seem better but the crazy thing is that the world is polarised and people living in places that are closest to baseline reality of survival are more focused and less distracted by the bullshit the new generation is concerned with in the west so it be interesting to see how it all plays out.

One thing I will say is US has a diversity of potential experiences and environments due to its size alone

Not to mention state/local politics, socioeconomic statuses etc

If you have a good job, house, connections etc it’s a lot different than being evicted from a rental in a country that punishes people for their own poverty

relative to a war zone in an over exploited (term used loosely here) country sure, that’s an incredibly easy juxtaposition to create if you’ve ever turned on a television.

So often though it seems there’s this attitude of just because something is worse somewhere, the person in the better situation should be rendered unable to complain

s*** lacks nuance. If some weird virus or d*** problem or horror movie monster strikes a nordic country with a much better safety net than the US i’m not going to be like “Crine! Stop complaining” Id rather be like damn how are they going to be able to solve this etc this is an issue that should be solved just like anywhere else
