The fake breakup s*** is not alright. It’s manipulative and emotionally abusive. My parents used to threaten to get divorced every other week when I was growing up and it f***ed me up.

My wife used to do that to me a lot actually. She sent me a f***ing breakup TEXT after 11 years of marriage back in March and I called her bluff told her I was good with that and to figure out living arrangements. She panicked and tried to patch things up the same day. We got our s*** together but me standing up to her is part of the reason we ended up in counseling.

I did. All that emotional energy and back and forth gets me worked up. I’m not used to emoting at that level but this is the woman I love so I’m emotionally invested. She gets those reactions from me sometimes. She doesn’t shame me for it which is nice. I don’t like being emotional like that I just can’t help it once I’m triggered to a certain point.

It’s either cry or beat her ass and I’m not doing the latter.
