Don’t you love when people make threads just to feel validated about their s***ty opinions
If there was no tipping restaurant owners would have to pay servers more meaning food prices would go up everywhere
Restaurants make bank, the food prices wouldn’t “need” to go up, the f***ers who own business would just have to sacrifice being as rich - which we all know isn’t going to happen
It’s a s***ty industry set up on exploiting the customers and workers
Let me tip the guy at the cash register for giving me my money correctly, and let me tip the cooks for making my food the way I like it. Lets tip the manager for knowing how to manage and lets tip the guy who opens the door for me.
What is this, Goodfellas
You just sound insufferable, sorry lol
Tipping waiters id mandatory from a good person perspective but this new s*** with asking you to tip people working the register at fast food spots is f***ing crazy

**Franchise restaurants make bank
The locally owned ones rarely are that successful and once the local restaurants raise their prices for meals franchises will do the same not because they need to but cause they can
Starbucks asking me to tip in the drive thru, Panda Express asking me to donate every time, restaurants asking me to tip when I order take out, pizza places asking me to tip for picking up a pizza, god damn everybody wants free f***ing money
Yeah I stopped tipping when they flip the iPad around or ask me to sign my name on the receipt. I’ll tip good for waiter service but everything else is unnecessary.
Also don’t fall for the cancer research or childrens hospital scam when they ask you to donate at grocery stores. They only do that to lower their taxes. If you wanna donate to it directly.
OP, many people in the service industry don’t have other job opportunities. It’s not that simple, “get a different job”
In Germany there is currently a campaign going on that tries to introduce this over here but loads of people are against it because the campaign is backed by big companies trying to not pay their employees enough and instead wanting to get the customers to pay for them.
You don’t have to tip over here, i personally don’t do it unless i genuinely feel like the waiter/waitress did a good job.
France, Switzerland
Never been to UK so idk how it is out there. Is tipping culture a thing?
a lot of restaurants in london have a service charge (basically tips) and it’s already kinda expensive to eat out

i be tipping max 2 dollars now
Visiting Europe gave me a vision of how life could be. Better food quality, better service, no tip bc the restaurant owners actually pay their employees, and still affordable
Service fees of 10 to 20% are already included in the bills in Italy and France
I will serve crack before I ever tip
Another terrible person talking about how terrible they are in life sxn And you’re all cheap as f*** on top of it
Americans are surreal
A nigga just talking about how he dont like that trash ass system yall have, where is legal to basically not pay servers, and people just jump to call OP broke (I mean, he didnt came of as nice, but yall be calling broke everyone that protest about tipping)
Crazy how brainwashed yall are about this

How are the prices up there in USA
Are they excepcionally cheap or something? Where i live, servers get paid a livable wage and i dont think prices are that expensive tbh.
And tbh, i would be up to pay more for the food, if i know its because the people working are getting paid. But i could see how the big companies could up their prices way too much using this as an excuse
This always a weird take imo. Do you not like going to the same place twice? At my regular bar I've always tipped at least 20% and they give me a bunch of free s*** now bc I'm a good patron.
You are not obligated to tip. You are definitely an a****** if you don’t tip in the US
just wondering if you tip the folks at mcdonalds too or where do you draw the line?
just wondering if you tip the folks at mcdonalds too or where do you draw the line?
I do tip the folks at the McDonald’s
Drive thru and inside
I delivered a doordash order the other night for a f***ing $0 tip somehow and I’m still shaking mad about it
Can’t wait to get Whitney H’s b****ass order again
