So I met this girl through a friend of my parents. Our first solo link was a NYE party. I wasn’t supposed to attend it due to family plans, but she ended up contacting my dad, pleading for him to let me go. At the time I thought it was pretty cute. We hit it off, she has a lot of cool interests. As we were talking she mentioned that she doesn’t believe that anyone makes nor listens to music albums anymore, and asked me to name the last album that was released. I initially thought that was weird, but not a complete turn off. So we danced the night away, had a deep convo and agreed to hang out again.

We’re texting throughout the week. I had a busy day at work, I wanted to go to the gym and spend time unwinding myself, towards the end of my shift she asks if she could come over, inviting herself to my house. I’m not against the idea of her coming over, I just didn’t like how she invited herself on a busy work day and I barely know her, but she ended up not coming. After that instance I started to respond slower to her texts. I was supposed to hike with her the following weekend, but it got cloudy, so I slept in and bailed.

Recently, her mother got on the phone with my father and she is now getting interviewed for a part time position at my family’s clinic, where I also work. I don’t know how she’s going to cope having a part time job while in pharmacy school, but good luck to her. Anyways , the point of my rant is just me asking if I’m being too dismissive of this girl or if I’m in the right for feeling uncomfortable. A strong part of me is saying that I need to give her a chance, but another half is cringing, feeling like she’s going too fast. I’m 24 and I’ve never been in a serious relationship, so I just wanted to take my time, but is this my opportunity?
