The Wamp Wamp beat
I was just giving this a spin and Counterfeit got me like "is that a Clipse sample?!"
The Angel You Don't Know was top 5 of 2020 for me and it felt compleltely unique relative to everything coming out of Nigeria
A lot of these songs sound like things I can hear from any popular nigerian artist (with the outlier being her distinct voice)
Sex, Violence, Suicide & Come Home to God are special and tap into all the things I like about her debut
I don't think any Nigerian artist is making music that sounds like this, and btw, she's Ghanaian
The reason why you may think that is that she leaned more into contemporary American influences on this album, so it's a lot more pop than TAYDK. Still, trust me when I say nobody in Afrobeats is making music like Amaarae. Not even close. She's in her own lane
angels in tibet
My sister just played this in the car for me today lmfao
Idk how I feel about it
What a timely bump

Yeah it's definitely the american/pop influence that I don't care for
She stills shows her uniqueness on here which is why I still got half the songs saved
as sooon as she said she was influenced by Britney Spears' Blackout it was over..
