part of the appeal for me was definitely how there was an epilogue for most episodes

Last time I was this hooked on something that fast was GoT story is so damn good

if they didn’t have that ending on ep 1 I prolly wouldn’t have watched any more eps tbh

everytime I try to put one of my friends on to this show I always have to tell them to watch ep 1 all the way through before judging cause the first ep gives off strong mid kids superhero cartoon vibes.

Yeah those were my thoughts exactly lol. I figured people were just hyping it up because it reminded them of static shock or something until that ending hit

Also my complaint at the start of the show was that the heroes are basically just copies of super popular heroes. But the demon detective just showed up and now I’m kind of intrigued lol. Hoping for more characters based off of the less often parodied heroes lol

I was thinking the Justice League knockoff wins kind of overdone, but I liked the introduction of a Hellboy knockoff because you never really see that lol. So I’m hoping we see knockoffs of more unusual characters.

Like, the idea of Hellboy in the same universe as justice league made it cooler to me lol

I haven't read the comics, but to me the parody justice league was there to symbolize Kirkman shattering the traditional comic book pov. Mark is able to reason with some enemies, while others suffer their own internal conflicts, something else we don't really see in super hero media (at least until recently with some of marvels development of villains)
