I think he cares but this episode was very revealing in terms of what his motivations truly are. When he spoke vaguely about his race being tasked with going from galaxy to galaxy cleaning up certain messes and bringing civilizations out of the mud, it was clear to me that what he was really insinuating was total domination lol and he knows he’s tasked with having to now instill that same knowledge into his son in order to carry on that legacy. Although when I look back on it, that shot of him from the previous episode of when he first met his wife now looks fishy to me. You can’t really tell if he was actually in the middle of saving her or moments away from killing her. Guess we’ll find out soon enough
