I still like the show but sometimes it feels like endless setup for some as of yet unrevealed thing

Finally watched episode 7

Why? The show is still really good

I see the complaints about resolution and all of the plot lines a lot but isn’t this kinda what comic book animated shows are?

Been watching the old X-Men show and although they resolve some plot lines they’re also teasing and setting up future problems

I feel like some are watching the show through the lenses of an adult drama because of the gore and blood but really it still has the feel of a Saturday morning cartoon to me

I mean don’t get me wrong the show is still great and I’m enjoying it but it’s hard for me to get hyped when they go on these hiatuses after a few episodes.

They have good working conditions and pay though

And the final product is the inverse

And yal getting 1 episode every 90 days

Yeah its how the comic is too. Idk how you could avoid that without changing the plot significantly

Yeah it’s how most comics are unless it’s a contained graphic novel. Maybe they could have made this season longer but most episodes are already 45 minutes

Yes at a bare minimum it's required in the US. No one has complained about crunch at Amazon animation studios yet lol

Its not amazon animation studio but skybound which is from the same guy that drew the comics and that company is also just opening a new studio in Japan and I also wouldnt know that the US has good working conditions for animators.

I also wouldnt know about public complaints tbh these days with NDAs and all especially in an industry where you might not get hired when they see you talk about this stuff publicly

Not to say they are MAPPA but I am just always a bit sceptical. In the case of Mappa its also easy to see why they have so many complaints since they hire a ton of freelancers so they arent as bound to the company as animators somewhere else

As far as I'm aware there are no such thing as animators in America really. Just storyboarders. They always outsource inbetweeners to Korea for a large majority of productions. Texas does have some animation studios as well.

Plus animation guilds do exist for 2d. Vfx is a different market who are churned much worse

as a comic reader this part of invincible is so lame to me in comparison to what happens later on but the multidimension s*** is fire

Tbf they do keep reminding us in the recaps

I don’t have as good of a memory when it comes to TV shows as I used to back when I had less to worry about so I usually always watch recaps unless I’m binging

This should ve been the main plot for season 2 from the jump, so much unnecessary filler stuff this whole season that could have been cut entirely

It’s like that in the books it’s based on

Imma let them cook but not revisiting that until the very last episode is very bold of them

Just finished the comic series

Kinda let down by the last stretch

I figured as much and suppose the comics fans would appreciate the accuracy. As an outsider tho some of those eps dealing with random non plot related opps kinda come off as filler detours

The conflict with his race vs humans is what this season really been missing compared to season 1

Just wait it’s about to get really streamlined and not like a Saturday morning cartoon anymore
