Amazon Prime Video has released a new trailer for its long-gestating American adaptation of “Utopia.”

The one-minute trailer imagines the end of the world with snippets of young comic fans who discover that the conspiracy — and beloved protagonist — in a graphic novel (entitled “Utopia”) is real. Its ominous cinematography and editing capture their high-stakes journey to save humanity.

“It is a story about a rogue scientist who created biological warfare,” says an unnamed character in the trailer, which you can watch above.

“We have no idea what the end of the world’s gonna bring, but french cut string beans aren’t gonna save anybody,” says another character.

Based on the British series of the same name, Amazon’s “Utopia” follows comic fans who first meet online, bonding over their obsession of a seemingly fictional comic, but soon they are drawn into a high-octane adventure to save the world after meeting the comic’s famed central character Jessica Hyde (Sasha Lane).

The original is one of the most unique and brilliant things I've seen. I still remember seeing the trailer for that on the week before it aired and was instantly hooked. The use of colour, the soundtrack.

This doesnt really feel anywhere near as interesting. Also the Arby replacement really struggling to match how menacing he was in the original.

And yeah I know its written by Gillian Flynn but eh. No Dennis Kelly

OG one was mindblowing I wish they just did a s3 for that one.

Don’t think it will be as visually appealing as the original but with Gillian Flynn as the showrunner it should definitely have some top-notch writing/storytelling.

Episode 2 is f***ing brutal

honestly the ending of episode 2 completely lost my interest in the rest of the series...it's not even that I particularly cared about that character but she deserved better than that and the follow up reactions didn't add up at all...really the show leans too heavy into the violence for the sake of shock value and yeah...not continuing with it lol

It was a british show. This version is a remake of that. The original is 100 times better written, the cinematography is better, and the characters are way more interesting. On god bro you need to peep the OG one before you watch this cus no cap that s*** was WILD.
