yeah Breaking Bad actually was two separate seasons, the final 8 was written and filmed almost a year later

it's only called "season 5 part 2" for legal reasons, because everyone was on a five season contract, so AMC didn't wanna have to renegotiate everyone's contracts just for 8 more eps (especially as the cast would all be able to lobby for way higher pay)

in the No Half Measures doco I think there's even a moment where Vince calls it season 6 for memory, then he's like "or season 5B or whatever you wanna call it"
