It was the only time I've ever been like that for a celeb, I was like checking socials and s*** every hour or so trying to get updates, s*** had me pressed

When his son (for memory) finally posted that Bob was conscious like a day or two later it was such a massive relief.

Same. Never been like that. Just constant refreshing of socials. I was completely out of commission for the full day

I remember sleeping pretty badly that first night, then waking up earlier than I needed to just to see if there were updates... crazy that only like 7 weeks later they were shooting again and it was all smiles

Bob Odenkirk on Better Call Saul's finale the day after reading the finalized screenplay

From the NYT article on Bob Odenkirk

Rhea Seehorn at the kitchen island in their house, talking about the finale of “Better Call Saul” — very carefully, because I was there. Odenkirk read Gould’s script the night before, and Seehorn didn’t try to hide her curiosity.

“You have 13?” she asked, eyes wide, referring to the episode number. “You like it?”

“It’s a lot in there, a lot to think about,” Odenkirk replied. “I think I like it, but I was pretty wiped out when I read it in the middle of the night. I think it’s a challenging way to go, to finish the series. It’s not flashy. It’s substantial, and on some level it’s things I hoped for, for years, in this character’s brain. On the other hand, yeah, I have to read it again. But what I like about it is, it’s not cheap. It’s not easy. It doesn’t feel cartoonish. It’s pretty great, I think. It’s pretty great.”

He added: “I would wanna end with this kind of character-development focus. That’s what it’s about, instead of something that just has guns in it. I guess there’s a few guns, but they’re not like in other episodes.” He turned to me, explaining: “I spend a fair amount of time doing crimes this season. Just stupid crimes.”

This aging isnt as bad as it was in El Camino

Honestly it wasnt even Jesse's face that threw me off, it was his voice and mannerisms

Season 2 Jesse didnt talk the same way as older Jesse

The RV flashback in Ozymandias is more distracting to me tbh, jesse’s face is way more bloated and huge

Bob been giving us heat for decades and has been Saul Goodman for over ten years and is still killing it

If my man wanna lick feet and suck toes thats his business

Yeah, due to the hats and the fact that the scene is set inside with more atmospheric lighting they were able to get away with it far better imo

Not sure what to expect from the remaining two flashback scenes, but I'm wondering if they might have Walt in his Heisenberg getup for his other scene? Means they can continue to hide the hair and also draw a clear parallel between where Gene is at now and where Walt was at when he was in that Heisenberg bag

    just watched el camino

honestly super underrated IMO. great filmmaking. definitely fanservice, but the execution is so good that it shouldnt matter.

the expectations were super high back then so i kinda get why the response wasnt as good, but i liked it way better now than when i watched it for the first time honestly

really really well directed and acted

i think people expected too much from it

gilligan nem basically said that in their minds jesse got away and el camino is just that with some extra goodies sprinkled onto it

Yeah from a technical point of view it's top notch filmmaking, and I really hope Vince gets to take what he learned there and do something original next.

I just look at it like... Vince saw this as an opportunity to play with a new set of toys in a new sandbox, y'know? If he wanted to do an original feature he could probably secure an OK budget, but a certified Breaking Bad movie with Sony and Netflix onboard likely allowed him more money to play with.

I'm glad everyone got to link up again on that front, and the fact that they kept so much of it as secret as they did was kinda wild, but it still has this odd sort of non-canon "reunion special" feeling to it to me I guess.

El Camino felt like fan fiction at points. Especially jesse turning into a Jason statham/Liam Neeson expert gunman at the end with that Cornball cowboy shootout
