Hard to believe there’s a whole season without Saul in BB
The Mike character was purely created because Bob Odenkirk couldn't make it to filming that day
He was supposed to clean up the Jane scene
This slow walk in with the suit and the song is when I surrendered my preconceived expectations and knew I was witnessing greatness

The only thing I’m maybe picking out
The CHOICE creatively for Gene to approach Jeff’s mother with the phone chord ready to choke her honestly feels unneeded
I get that it showed just how against the wall he was, but I feel it wasn’t really needed thinking about what we got in this ep
I feel like that was meant to truly be rock bottom for him in his mind morally. He can always be an accessory or witness to something like Howard but to truly consider acting on an impulse like that himself was the breaking point for him
The Mike character was purely created because Bob Odenkirk couldn't make it to filming that day
He was supposed to clean up the Jane scene
Thank God for How I Met Your Mother

“That last line from Chuck: "There's no shame in going back and changing your path" tied everything together beautifully. Obviously in the moment he's trying to manipulate Jimmy into giving up his career as a lawyer, but you look at how his and the other two conversations about the "time machine" blend together and it all comes together as to why he confessed.
Mike's is all about the residual, heavy regrets that you carry on. They linger with you like a weight, and as much as you try to "wake up one day and forget", there are simply some that you'll never forget about. Things that you'll always carry, like Howard's and Chuck's death (and in Mike's case, what I assume was his son's death and before that his first turn down the "bad choice road"). Walt literally brings up that yes, obviously you can't go back into a time machine to change your choices. Saul's knee spiel and the "So you've always been this way" from Walter is pretty funny but also reaffirms that even up until the very end as Saul, he still couldn't come to terms with his brother and what he'd said.
But when Jimmy confesses, he takes a little bit of what he heard from Mike, Walter, and Chuck, and chooses to "change the past" by completely altering the story he told the prosecution. He "comes out" fully about his part in Howard and Chuck, admits the rest of his crimes, and I think he ultimately accepts that if he's out in the real world, "he'll never change" as Chuck had said. Gene/Victor proved that the moment he went back to Jeff. This was the last chance he had to change his path and he took it, and was finally, truly "all rested" as he'd said to Mike at the beginning.
Loved it.”
Phenomenal ending

Wow
Alls I’m sayin is if Shrekeli and Bill Cosby can get out early like that, anything’s possible for Jimmy!

He out rn due to covid
I think the small imperfections in breaking bad (writing, characters) were made up with better call saul. However, the small imperfections in better call saul (pacing, consistent tone) were made up with breaking bad
I think both shows are some of the best of all time. I prefer breaking bad overall but I think watching the shows in chronological order could be a perfect viewing experience

"Smack huh.. I don't get it why not just smoke the devils lettuce like the rest of us."

Think the writing took a dive in the last few episodes since they were in a hurry. They made saul quite the dumbass as far as how he got himself caught. That said I thought about 92% of this finale was top tier
