Kaytra needs to get serious and release whatever he has locked in the vault with Mach-Hommy. This is still the best song he’s ever made

sometimes i wonder if it’s like a defense mechanism, trying to lash out at niggas that actually try when they rap because a lot of these niggas they love do not try at ALL.

i think the IDK album just has REALLY strong songwriting and it’s very tight conceptually and sonically, it truly feels like they labbed together. yeah the beats are closer to what you might hear on a kaytra solo album but his sound doesn’t ever get tired for me so 🤷🏾‍♂️

whereas this album is a deeper dive into his rap s*** and more of a departure from the dance vibes, which i do appreciate hearing from him. this is more of an outside-ready album while simple was more of a meditative, narrative focused project to vibe to, i think they just (effectively) serve different purposes.

i like that he’s doing projects with artists that tend to dive heavily into both rapping and singing, that’s the best way to show his full range, is to work with artists that also have range.

My take on this album is I usually expect crazy beats from Kaytranada and it seems like he toned it down to let Amine rap. I did think some of these boom bap type songs like Westside go hard. This album had potential for more but it should get more attention because it's pretty good.

Ay I’m on way back from EDC, saw Kaytranada’s set last night and it’s one of the best I’ve ever seen.

This is a cool project, production is dope throughout. Do agree with the comments on some of the bars being a bit lackluster tho lmao

I was expecting a lot from this tape, but I also had a feeling that it wouldn't live up to it like the IDK tape did. This is a lot better, but it still isn't as good as I hoped. I'll still give it some time though.
