the writing was really sloppy at times but that's part of the reason why I love that trilogy

The writing being sloppy has meant most of the lines are a meme at this point, theyre great films for the entertainment value alone

They honestly have amazing moments dotted throughout though, George had passion behind the prequels that I cant help but love.

    GOOOOOOOD

Palpatine stole literally every scene he was in and was one of the highlights of the prequels, Ian McDiarmid is a saint

Theyre definitely better than the Disney sequels, the prequels had heart even if they were often a mess

Yeah exactly they had passion behind them, this was the story George Lucas wanted to tell. The problem was after the Original Trilogy nobody wanted to question him, so he was just surrounded by Yes men unlike for the originals where his Wife edited it to make them as good as they were. Each prequel got better as they went on

Yeah it’s hilarious how he realizes this afterwards like when it’s too late while he reviews Phantom Menace “I may have gone too far in some places..” but he took that lesson on going, hell he wanted other people to direct but they said no

But yeah, at least these movies gave us something new and some iconic s***, much more than this new trilogy

"Jar Jar is the key to all this"

Definitely true, he told an original story that had a purpose to be there and a story to tell. And seemed to take the criticism at the time well enough which I respect. I'll always love the prequels, cause I'm either genuinely engaged or laughing

Hahahaha, man yeah like at least it brings some entertainment out of you even if you’re laughing your ass off of it there’s something, the new trilogy brought nothing near that to me, no excitement no nothing

And I mean Ewan as Obi-wan good lord this has to be top 3 of best casting ever of a another dude taking on the role of someone that has already being portrayed by someone older or younger

Exactly, they're great experiences to watch. Disney really dropped the ball with Star wars, kinda seems theyre on damage control atm trying to save a franchise that used to have no contest and would print money whatever you did. Ewan as Obi wan was amazing, he really was one of the main highlights of the movies. He somehow embodied Alec Guinness while making the character all his own aswell, Obi-Wan and Palpatine made these movies

Han Solo movie was a genuine surprise tho I thought it was actually cool and I really like the Mandalorian show, but yeah they really f***ed up the trilogy to the point of no return, I don’t see them coming back from that for a while, like movie wise

    RotS my favorite one.

That scene was borderline traumatizing to watch as an 11 year old. But also incredibly epic.
